Hollywood Smile and Porcelain veneers
Posted by Amelia Grant of
What can make your smile as perfect as a movie-stars have? One of the ways - is veneers. They actually were used by actors for the first time. It was in the 1930s, the dentist Charles Pincus worked at the Factory of Stars. His clients were celebrities of that time. He invented the finest porcelain plates that hide all the imperfections of a smile. Of course, the quality of the material and the skills of the dentist in those time and nowadays are absolutely different. Today, veneers are available to everyone - it's not necessary to be a representative of the show business to have a beautiful smile. The number of patients, who choose veneers for themselves as a means to radically improve their appearance, is growing every year. But not always veneers are the right solution to the problem. Are dental veneers for you? Before choosing a certain type of veneer, you should first find out if dental veneers are the right solution for you. Veneers are not appropriate for everyone or every tooth. Veneers are very effective when it comes to: •correcting teeth that are crooked or badly shaped •restoring teeth that are broken or chipped, teeth that changed the form by wear •stained or discolored teeth when a teeth whitening treatment doesn't help •teeth that are spaced too far apart Once you know that dental veneers can be a good option for you (this is usually done after a thorough Cosmetic Analysis), you must make a decision about what kind of veneers you want. There are two types of veneers: porcelain and composite. Porcelain veneers Porcelain veneers are one of the most beautiful restorations available in cosmetic dentistry. Porcelain veneers are always manufactured in a dental lab after the molding of the prepared teeth taken by the dentist. Depending on the initial condition of the teeth, more or less of the teeth structure will have to be removed in order to accommodate the veneers. This is done by trimming the enamel from the front and the biting edge of your teeth. A porcelain veneer usually has the thickness about 0.5 to 0.7 millimeters. Once bonded to healthy tooth structure it becomes very strong. Porcelain veneers are very strong, they rarely chip and their color is stable. Lifespan is between 15 and 20 years if you take good care of them. Porcelain has a translucent, light-reflective quality similar to tooth enamel. So, it can mimic natural teeth in a way which is not possible for other dental material. Porcelain veneers are very durable and they rarely chip or break. Despite all the positive aspects of porcelain veneers, you should know some more. They are fabricated in a dental laboratory and therefore require at least two visits. Porcelain veneers are more expensive than composite veneers as their placement requires more time, expertise and resources. Porcelain veneers cannot be repaired. If they break, porcelain veneers must be replaced. Make your choice, and be unbelievable with your new smile.Click Here for Provider's Detail Page
