Neuro Cranial Restructuring (NCR) is a manipulation process used to unwind the body into its original and optimal design thereby relieving pain and promoting wellness. NCR utilizes careful analysis of the body's proprioception (patterns of balance) to determine the precise areas of the skull needing to be unlocked. The unlocking of the skull bones allows the connective tissues and the meninges to release their residual tensions and move the bony structures incrementally back towards the body's original design.
The NCR practitioner will first assess a patient's posture, skull shape, and physical complaints. Then a small finger cot is attached to an inflating bulb and inserted into the nasal meatuses. The cot is then inflated rapidly and moves the sphenoid bone into a new position. Consequently, all other bones and menenges associated with the sphenoid will also move leading to a new relationship of the skull bones to each other. Proponents of NCR maintain that long-term changes are the normal response, and the eventual result is an optimization of nervous system functions and body posture. Practitioners of NCR assert that many conditions thought to be biochemical, developmental or infective in nature have a previously unknown, correctable structural component.
Practitioners of NCR also purport that NCR can have a lasting effect on mental states due to the mind-body connection. NCR is said to optimize brain health due to an idealized flow of blood and cerebrospinal fluid. NCR is a technique that optimizes the function of the brain and body. NCR may also be used to address chronic pain in the musculoskeletal system due to the affect of NCR in realigning the whole body.
