Plum blossom, sometimes referred to as "seven-star" needles, are sterile tools that have a handle like a hammer, with several (usually 5-7) very small needles attached at the end. They are used as a specific technique in traditional Chinese medicine under the subheading of cutaneous or dermal acupuncture.
